About the Job
We are seeking a skilled Special Procedures Tech II to join our team at HCA Florida Largo Hospital. As a Special Procedures Technologist, you will be responsible for operating medical diagnostic imaging equipment and assisting in imaging procedures such as angiography and cardiac catheterization.

Responsibilities

• 
  
• Demonstrate accountability and responsibility in performing procedures and care in a caring, compassionate, and respectful manner.
  
• Prepare and position patients and equipment in a safe, competent manner in accordance with established operating procedures.
  
• Perform technical radiographic procedures in accordance with established operating procedures and routines accurately and in a timely manner.
  
• Assist in administration of contrast media in accordance with departmental policy and procedure.
  
• Obtain high-quality radiographic images; review quality of radiographs to ensure quality standards have been met.
  
• Obtain and document all pertinent patient information prior to exam, i.e., patient history, pregnancy, allergies, and obtains informed consent in accordance with departmental policy and procedure.
  
• Maintain effective communication with patient; provide explanation of procedures within scope of practice.
  
• Maintain proactive and effective communication with radiologists.
  
• Be responsible for rotating call, which will be assigned.
  
  
  Qualifications
  
  • 
    
  • Associates Degree from a 2-year accredited School of Radiologic Technology.
    
  • Florida Department of Health licensure (CRT).
    
  • Current ARRT credential; RCIS credential also considered in conjunction with minimum Interventional Radiology (IR) experience.
    
  • Minimum of 1-3 years licensed experience in Radiology to include at least one (1) year of IR experience.
    
  • Angio, Peripheral, and Neuro experience a plus.
    
  • BLS required upon hire and ACLS required within 6 months of hire.
